His football career ended when he went back to Man Utd.

He can go to Burnley on loan

He's earning £10mil for this season, to add to the tens of millions he no doubt already has. He'll probably get a gig in the MLS next season, which I think was the plan all along. And his social media probably earns him millions.

He's not bothered about football, and hasn't been for a long time. Only idiots couldn't see that. Not a problem when it's idiots on here, but pretty worrying when the manager of our football club couldn't see it.

Shot himself in the foot massively.

To think we offered him 3 years on 150k a week.

He’s flopped massively and wherever he goes next season it will be a fraction of the wages he is on now.

Clearly a player that wants to play for Manchester United and the purple patch with us was his last chance to show that could happen….take the Manchester a United incentive away like is the case now and you have a shithouse player….

Absolutely no way. Can't see anything to suggest he might be able to re-create his purple patch. He's a busted flush.

Re: Jesse Lingard - Yes or no?
Understand that Fifth but if we are to believe what has been written then he was given assurances by OGS that he would get game time at his boyhood club who he has supported his whole life and been at since a child. Couple that with the fact that they are arguably the largest club in the world and he had the chance to play with CR7 who was his idol you can understand why he would stay at ManU. Its easy to look at it from the point of view of the 'everyday man' that we would play rather than hold out for the money as the idea of having £5/10/15 or even 20m is pretty unimaginable so its just a pipe dream. If you are living that life with the costs associated and the standard of living that you want to maintain then these decisions become much more delicate and in-depth.

We're not talking about the difference of £12m to £15m, looking at the numbers rumoured previously of £200k per week you are talking about £31.2m over a 3 year contract with a signing on fee of say £5m you have over £36m in his pocket versus no signing on fee and wages of say £100k with ManU picking up a £10m fee now. As you can see this would make a difference of £20m to him personally, that is a shit load of money on top of what he has already earned.

I honestly think this now has disaster written all over it if he comes now. Its just not how its done. it's just not right the way its all dragged out.

I'd rather we look elsewhere.

Spurs enter the race?

*Looks at how our finances panned out after spurs stuck their fucking oar into our move to the O/S. Shrugs shoulders and smiles sweetly.*

How did Joe Cole's return to West Ham work out?

Will be the same, probably (it's not my money), with Lingard. He had his purple patch but couldn't maintain it.

The net needs to be cast in another lake.

Jim

I honestly don't think I would run down my contract. I would have asked to leave to join West Ham at the end of last season. If he'd done what he did with us at Leicester or Villa or wherever I'd have said the same. I might end up with £12 million instead of £15 million in my bank account when I retire but then I've fucked my career. I feel sorry for him as he's got his priorities wrong IMHO.

Re: Jesse Lingard - Yes or no?
I'd love to get him back as he was exceptional for us and seemed like he was well liked in the dressing room but lets be honest the only reason he would leave ManU now is if he believed he would have a chance to go to the World Cup. If he has looked at it realistically and thought with all the other options England have with the likes of Madison at Leceister coming good again that he doesn't have a shout then it makes perfect sense the run his contract down. He's approaching 30 with the chance to get one last big payday with a sizeable signing on fee and high wages that could make a £5-10m difference to him personally if not more. When you consider how short a players career is then he's doing the best thing for him and why shouldn't he, its what we would all do. He'll still have a choice of at least 4 or 5 clubs who will take him.
